Singapore-Indonesia Transit-Artist Residency

Singapore-Indonesia Transit Artist Residency (SITAR) develops, supports, and stewards incubation and interdisciplinary collaboration for Singapore and Indonesia artists.

SITAR is first initiated in Yogyakarta by Singapore artist Jimmy Ong in August 2012, after a year long self funded residency in collaboration with curator Grace Samboh of HYPHEN and artists Ferial Afiff and Lashita Situmoran.

Jimmy endeavors SITAR to share resources and networks between Singapore and Indonesia. Not all future projects necessitate Jimmy’s artistic participation.

As of August 2014, this endeavour is home/ office/ workshop and community centre in Mantrijeron Yogyakarta known as Mogus House, co-host/ run by Mulyana Mogus and Jimmy Ong.
